	Developmental Hockey
	The Ice Connection’s Developmental Program is designed to get kids interested in playing the sport of Hockey. Our head instructor is Coach Brad Posey. He has been playing hockey for 16 years and has been coaching for 9 years. "We try our best to make it fun for the kids while they learn the basic skills they would need to play at the next level. The major skill we focus on is Skating. We get the kids comfortable on their skates and also comfortable getting up from the ice, so when they fall, they can quickly bounce right back up. Other skills focused on are stick handling, passing, and shooting. We do not just focus on the skills of the game, but some mental aspects, like offsides. We do focus a lot on work ethic. We push all kids to do their best and try their hardest at all times, but in the end we teach that the game of hockey is still just a game and is made to be fun."

	Brad Posey has been around sports his entire life. Graduating High School Brad lettered in the four sports, Soccer, Football, Volleyball, and Hockey. His passion lies with Hockey as he has been playing, coaching, and refereeing hockey for 16 years. He started coaching hockey in 1998 with young developmental players and private lessons. From 2000 to 2005 he coached traveling youth hockey. Currently Brad is in charge of the Developmental Hockey Program at the Ice Connection and teaches private lessons. He has also made his love for the game into a career by managing the ice rink, the Ice Connection of Pittsburgh. Brad believes in teaching young athletes the fundamental skills needed to play hockey and most of all how to work hard and enjoy it. His love for the game, but more importantly his love for kids helps him connect with each player to make fun and inspirational.
